Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Pantry Plan, a BuildRelay product, handles information when you use the app and its services.

Information you provide

• Adult account details, including name and email address.
• Household profiles, meal plans, pantry items, shopping lists, recipes, and food preferences.
• Optional child profiles, including names or nicknames, age ranges, allergies, dietary needs, and avoided foods.
• Images you choose for receipt scanning or pantry-item recognition.
• Messages you send to support.

How information is used

We use this information to authenticate adults, synchronize household data, provide meal-planning and pantry features, protect child meal choices, prevent abuse, provide support, and maintain service security.

Images and automated processing

Receipt images are processed to suggest grocery items. Pantry photos may be sent securely to Google's Gemini API for automated item recognition when that feature is enabled and you choose to use it. Suggestions require adult review before they alter household inventory. Images are processed for the requested analysis and are not stored by Pantry Plan after the request completes. Provider handling is also governed by the applicable provider terms and privacy policy.

Recipe providers

Recipe discovery may query TheMealDB and includes adapted UniTools World Recipes content. Searches are sent through Pantry Plan's server. Pantry Plan does not send your child profiles or household food-safety settings to recipe providers.

Information sharing

We disclose information only to service providers needed to operate the service, such as hosting, transactional email, abuse protection, and optional image analysis; when required by law; or to protect users and the service. We do not sell personal information or use it for third-party advertising.

Retention and deletion

Household data is retained while your account is active and in short-lived encrypted operational backups. You can permanently delete your account from the app. Deletion removes your account and associated data, subject to limited security, legal, and backup-retention requirements. See account deletion.

Children

Pantry Plan is a family utility controlled by an adult account. Children do not create accounts. Grown-ups decide what child-profile information to add and can edit or remove it. Pantry Plan is not a medical service; adults must verify ingredients, packaging, and cross-contamination risks.

Security and choices

We use encrypted transport, access controls, and restricted production systems. You may deny camera or photo access and enter information manually. You may update household data in the app or delete your account.
