Privacy Policy

Pantry Plan is an adult-operated family utility. Adults must be 18 or older to create an account; children do not create accounts.

Information synchronized by Pantry Plan

• Adult account name, email address, authentication and household membership.
• Household name, parent-created member aliases, avatar symbols, and colors.
• Pantry items, meal plans, shopping lists, recipes, and adult-approved choices.
• Messages sent to support and limited security/request metadata.

Private settings stored in app storage

Broad age bands, ingredient restrictions, dietary preferences, favorite foods, and lunch routines stay in app storage on the adult’s device. Pantry Plan does not sync them to Pantry Plan servers or send them to Google Gemini, recipe providers, advertisers, data brokers, or analytics services. They may be included in mobile operating-system backups according to the adult’s device and cloud-backup settings. See the separate Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy.

Images and providers

Receipt images are processed by Pantry Plan’s protected OCR service. Pantry photos are sent to Google Gemini only after an adult explicitly allows analysis. Choosing Not now prevents upload. Pantry Plan does not permanently store raw scan images. Google may temporarily process or retain pantry photos under its service terms. Private household-member settings are not included with images.

Recipe searches may query TheMealDB through Pantry Plan without private member settings. Barcode numbers may be sent to Open Food Facts without adult account or household identifiers.

Sharing and advertising

Pantry Plan uses service providers only as needed for hosting, authentication, email, security, product lookup, and optional image analysis. Pantry Plan does not sell personal information, use household data for third-party advertising, or permit cross-app tracking.

Retention and deletion

Synced household data remains while the account or shared household is active. Raw scan images are not stored. Security logs expire within 7 days. Encrypted operational backups expire within 30 days. Adults can export household data, delete member profiles and private settings, revoke pantry-photo permission, or delete the account in the app. Deleted active data may remain in encrypted backups until they expire.

Children and food safety

Pantry Plan is directed to adults, is not submitted as a children’s app, and does not ask for child accounts, legal names, birth dates, photos, contact details, school information, diagnoses, medication, symptoms, height, or weight. Pantry Plan is not a medical or emergency service. Adults must verify labels, ingredients, preparation methods, and cross-contamination risks.
